I don't think that I've seen a guitar stand like that before. What kind is it? Nice pic of both basses. The Europa's top looks great in this pic. |

hi michael your europa has a beautiful top. is it walnut burl, or 'just' an amazing piece of walnut? also, that's a very interesting distillate. could that be an ebony top? thanks for posting your pics marc |

Marc; in his post here, Michael describes the Distillate top as being dark Coco Bolo. |

Looks like a 5-instrument Rockman stand by Warwick, Dave, I have a couple of those. They make them for 3 and for 7 instruments too, if I recall correctly. Valentino |

Val, I wasn't referring to the multi-instrument stand; I was looking at the thing that has its arms around the Europa. |

The stand is called a Catch-o-matic model GS700 by a company called Nanyo? It's very versatile in that it shapes itself to your basses body as the bass is lowered onto the stand. Not my favorite though because it is a little difficult to make the bass stand upright if you have an offset body like a Europa. Mike |

Marcm, Thanks, The top is not Burl Walnut but I lost the wood card so I don't know what Alembic calls it. It might be figured Walnut or Superb, I'm not really sure. I seem to recall a phone conversation with Mica a few years ago where she said it was just "Walnut"! Isn't that just another example of the high standards of Alembic to just think of this wood as an average piece? I love this company! |

It doesn't look average to me; I think it has great figuring. |
