It's very versatile in that it shapes itself to your basses body as the bass is lowered onto the stand. Not my favorite though because it is a little difficult to make the bass stand upright if you have an offset body like a Europa. It might be figured Walnut or Superb, I'm not really sure. I seem to recall a phone conversation with Mica a few years ago where she said it was just "Walnut"! Isn't that just another example of the high standards of Alembic to just think of this wood as an average piece?
