In the top right hand corner of each page of the discussion board, there is a link to the Search function of the board. While very useful, the search function, which is integrated into the software package, is relatively slow compared to other search engines. An alternative is to use another search engine and confine the search to alembic.com. For instance, if you click on the following link, it opens an advanced Google search page with Alembic.com already entered in the domain category. Thus, all you need to do is enter your search terms. Advanced Google Search of Alembic.com (If you find the above link useful, you way want to bookmark it in the same place as your Alembic Club bookmark.) For new members and old members alike, searches can be very helpful. Quite often, new members will ask questions that have been discussed many times in the past, and while members are always willing to respond to such questions, a good search can reveal valuable information in addition to the current responses. A common example is strings. Many new members ask about strings, often a particular brand of string. If you post asking "does anyone here use Maxima strings", you can wait around for a few days and receive some good responses; but if you run a search on "Maxima", you'll probably get your answers within a few seconds. Of course there's nothing wrong with posting such questions, and new threads can reveal new information. But a good search can be a gold mine of useful information.
