For anyone interested, Roger has some fine Burl Buckeye at his shop, and fixed me up very nicely last week with a new set of knobs. I had visions of fancy inlays everywhere, but Roger said no, that he would hate to interrupt the swirls in the Buckeye, and I'm glad I listened. Smart man, that Roger, and damn talented, too. Wow. I am amazed by Buckeye burl over and over again. Beautiful. Roger was right. The less the visual flow of the buckeye is interrupted, the better. I've noticed that sometimes I like to look at pictures of the back of BB basses more than the fronts, because there is more uninterupted burl. Bill |
