There is a thread here, started by Stoney, in which he tells the story of how his Brown Bass returned to him; and in the story he tells of James, the person he originally traded his Brown Bass to, and how he enjoyed getting to know him. He also tells of James' passing, and how that eventually lead to his repurchasing the bass from, and meeting and spending the day with, James' sister. James was our "ctjim". Jim was a regularly contributing member here for several years. It's been well over three years since his last post, but many of you will recognize the username. If you run a search of the site for ctjim and start rereading some of his posts, you'll quickly remember his warm personality and contributions to our community. Since many of you don't read all the sections of the board, I wanted to let you all know about the thread Stoney started so you can read the nice story he wrote about Jim and his family. Two of Jim's nieces have also contributed to the thread. As I mentioned there in Stoney's thread, Jim's good nature always seem to shine through in his posts; and his contributions helped make our community what it is. |

I'm not the first one to say it here, but all the same (and with a nod to Bill, TGO): "May the four winds blow you safely home . . ." May his memories be a comfort to his family. Our instruments lead longer lives than our bodies, but perhaps they don't forget the notes we've played. (Message edited by hydrargyrum on May 04, 2011) |
