I just noticed this bass in the Alembic Store. (If we've talked about this template before, forgive my lack of memory.) It's a very nice looking body style.

I've never seen one like that before either. I don't usually like crazy woods but the marbeling effect is pretty nice.

Hey Dave,

I'm not quite sure I like this look. It combines elements from two distinct designs that are completely different. The Rogue body has the slim, sleek and sexy offset waist highlighted by it's super long upper horn. The omega (or heart omega) comes from a wider, rounder standard body. I'm not sure that the Rogue body has the curves to successfully incorporate an omega cut.

Still a work of art, but I suppose a matter of personal taste. The top of course, is outstanding.

I'm sort of with Rami on this one. What I miss most here is the skewed bottom and offset waist indents, that make the standard Rogue look like it's dancing or something.

The indents are offset here a little, but not as much. Since the Rogue is a fairly small body in the first place, I think it looks more "rooted" or something with that drooping bottom lobe.

Personally, I think the Rogue's upper horn is a bit excessive, but that's another matter - this looks to me like the top half of one bass glued to the bottom of another. But as always, to each his or her own.

Judging from pictures, I think the Rogue and Essence shapes look best on a 5 or a 6. On a 4 they look a bit narrow compared to how long they are. Then again I never held a Rogue in my hands, and it's been a while since I picked up an Essence.

Rami and Bob; when I first looked at it, I too thought that it looked like the top of one body attached to the bottom of another, but the more I look at it the more it works. The lines just seem to flow really well. It would probably be revealing to see pictures of this body style from other angles; maybe it would not seem to "work" when viewed from a playing angle.

Hey Dave

I have to agree with Rami on this one! This weekend I got a chance to check out a Rouge and I have decided that it will be the next Alembic to add to the collection. I want to do it in a six string as Adriaan suggested. That being said, if we all enjoyed the same thing what a boring place Alembic Land would be! I have seen some great looking basses here,(most of which Rami owns)and I look forward to the new and different dreams of all the members.
