Can somebody confirm if this is really a Series II ? : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=893335765 Seems to be a Europe to me, certainly if I see the controls, the shape, and no side LED's ? It's a beauty, but I don't think the information on the page is correct ... Perhaps Mica remembers this custom made bass ? Peace Jan |

Luckily the Alembic force went into action and educated the seller who made an update to the listing. Everything in the listing isn't perfect, but it doesn't seem the seller is trying to misrepresent the bass. Anyway, the pictures speak for themselves. The Maple back, thicker horns and straight elbow cut say it's an Elan. Since the seller is in Baltimore, I'll guess the bass was originally sold through Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center in Wheaton, MD. The bass is an Elan "Plus" model, made before the Europa was designed. Washington Music ordered all their Elans with the additional bass and treble cut and boost switches that weren't on the standard Elans. Wild looking piece!
