Last I heard, Alembic has never made a bolt-on instrument. Must be something else with Alembic pickups and logo. Now that I look again, the pickups look suspicious as well... I could be wrong, though. Stranger things have happened. |

There were about 25 of these made by our importer in Japan in the early or mid eighties (my memory isn't exact on the date). The exchange rate was very bad at the time, and they had a big concern to keep the brand active in their market. We licensed them to make these basses, they purchased our electronics and logo and they did the fabrication. They were only available in Japan. |
