Yep! it did happen again! I received my second Alembic bass today. I could nt resist to buy a mint 82 Spoiler. Need a good set up and clean up, but no dings scratch or anything bad. And it sound amazing.

Thank to Alembic for building such great intruments.

I just find out that it might be one of the first Spoiler ever made. Here's some pictures for your eyes!

Is that a solid, one piece body? I love it... pretty slick Excel too!!

Pretty sure it's solid Koa

Extremely nice!

I've owned two of these old Spoilers (stupid me sold one once...) and somehow -imho- their sound and playability exceeds anything I've ever played.

I love the Decal, would that be a current custom option? (Mica?)

Congrats!

From what i've found the decal was a standard option on +- 50 first spoiler made.

This is from the VERY first run of Spoilers; they had an ALEMBIC decal: Never been used again, before or since. Cool !

I really like to know her rank in the spoilers history. Is there anyway to find out? Or is there some owner with an older serial#?

The first in my list is (was, thanx!) 82S2194

If I'm not mistaken (it's likely I am) the first 50 or so, had the decal and the first 100 or so, were Solid Koa.
The decal was not an option, they just came with it (until people started complaining)

Mine is 83S2674 and the one I sold is 83S2433
It’s difficult to determine the rank since they not only made Spoilers back then.
With yours it's a bit easier since it is one of the first ones -> the oldest known to the club according to my list. :-)
