I keep hearing about this piece of gear called an IN-2. From what I gather it's an old Alembic preamp that they haven't made in a long time.

So for those lucky few that own/owned one...

- What is it exactly?
- What makes it special?

Would someone be so kind as to post a pic or two of one? (front/back would be nice)

ty in advance

The IN-2 is not a preamp, but a power supply, or perhaps more properly, an Input Module. They are quite rare and feature the following:

- 18V power supply for Series instruments

- two stereo channels with four phone jack outputs each

- low impedance direct outs for each channel

- mode switch for selecting stereo, mono, channel A or channel B

As for what makes it special; it has more functionality than a DS-5R.

And now blatantly asking the obvious: Why aren't they built anymore?
