I am using an F-1X into the power amp in of my Peavey BAM210. This bypasses ALL the Peavey controls, including volume. I use the F-1X to control volume, set at about 3. I would like to get more drive from the pre to get a little tubeyness. Turning down the instrument and raising the pre doesn't seem feasible (cutting input voltage won't drive as much, right?) Am I missing something, or do I just need a power amp I can turn down to keep volume in line?
