Did you guys ever hear of a Stanley Clark ORION model? There's a guy selling a 6 string Orion on e-bay and he's calling it a Stanley Clark Model. Couldn't this be considered false advertising? His price for a used Orion is also a little high. This seller's not from the US ... does Alembic make a "Stanley Clark Model" Orion for distribution in other countries? Just thought I'd point this out to the club for some feedback. I hate seeing someone give false information about Alembics. Could sour someones view point about our beloved brand.

You can certainly order an Orion with the small standard body shape in short scale. That would make it appear similar to an SC model, but I wouldn't then call it one.

This is a stock 6 string Orion. Nothing special about it. Totally stock except it's a 6 string. I guess it's not really my business but if i bought it as my 1st Alembic and then found out it wasn't a SC model I'd be upset. I just hate seeing someone mislead prospective new Alembic owners.

There's also a five string short-scale that looks like it is being represented as having a higher value than it actually does, though not by too much. Buyer beware on every item on eBay, as always.

Apparently, both ads have been edited. Perhaps they received some helpful email.

I emailed the guy with the Orion 6, here's his response:

"Thanks for bringing that to my attention. You are right about the model. I saw a picture of Clarke with this bass and assumed but after checking Alembics website I saw you are right. Cheers."

So the ad was edited, and the price remains at $2700. Good luck with that one...

The short scale has now been listed I think 3 times, it was at an even higher price originally. Best of luck to him as well...

Actually "I" e-mailed the guy with the Orion ... it just bugged me! :-) I'm glad he fixed it.

Teamwork gets the job done. If only it also brought the price down. :-)

Thanks for helping get these listings corrected. For the record, I've never seen Stanley play an Orion bass.

Another Club member alerted me to a totally bogus auction of the Dargon Magic guitar. The "seller" lifted all the text and photos from the webpage. The original owner still has the guitar and was not selling it (we called him). I wonder what that "seller" was going to send to the winning bidder? What some folks will try!
