When I set my low pass filter to certain positions my bass sounds like it is running through an envelop follower (sort of "wha" sound). Also the filter pot is not tapered well. At about a quarter turn it is full off/on. Help!

Have you adjusted the pre set pots in the control cavity?? Also it sounds as if you have the Q switch permanently in the on position.
I am sure others here will advise soon

If your electronics haven't received an electronics upgrade, consider sending them in for this relatively inexpensive service. The whole of the electronics' function is tested at the same time. Make sure you include your detailed observations when you send them in, so that we can work to recreate them here and confirm repair.

You can email me (click on my user name on the left) to schedule servicing.

I'll try adjustments in the control cavity but, I thought that was just for pickup volume. Thanks for the input. Thank you for the reply Mica I will consider that if I can't figure it out.

The trimpots on the inside are for gain only.

Have you had your Spoiler since 1987? If you haven't used it much, or it was recently acquired, you should clean the pots bu rotating 20-40 times, making sure to reach the stop on both ends.
