I was wondering how up to date the woodbank is .I've noticed much of it, in most catagories, was sold or had been reserved.I also note that there are many woods that aren't in the bank, but are often (at least in the past) used as top lams etc. I'm sure upon ordering a build there are more visual options ,plenty of examples in the club to reference, but wondered if the bank is purely just a visual reference.

I did have a vision for the Wood Bank, so that you might be able to select your top wood, then I'd add a picture of the finished instrument to have a library of visual references and help folk understand how to look at raw wood. I still want to develop this idea, but I'm not totally there.

One problem is Maples... they are so bland when sanded, it seems better just to select from finished pieces and then we find something that has a similar character.

Other woods, like many of the Burls, don't have enough contrast to see what is cool.

Unless there's lots of contrast, and even then, helping select unfinished wood has been more of a challenge than I originally thought. BUT, I'm still dedicated to the concept, and I'm sure it's something I will develop further at some point.

For now, I'll continue posting some things that are a little strange in there.
