ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE EPIFANI 210AP (15 DEGREE SLANT CAB)? I'M LOOKING FOR A SMALL CAB FOR SMALL GIGS THAT DOESN'T PROJECT SOUND INTO MY KNEEPITS. I USE AN EL WHAPPO THAT IS SOMETIMES A LITTLE TOO BIG FOR SOME VENUES.

The specs look really nice on Epifani's web page. I see they come in a choice of cabinet design, the NYC and the Ultralight. The description of the two types suggests there is a substantial difference in tone. Still, a 37 lb. 2*10 cab with specs of 500w RMS (1200w Peak), 40hz - 16khz, and 102db SPL looks really interesting!

I think Pino Palladino uses these 2x10s (straight cabs) augmented with Ashdown power/pre-amp and I believe Ashdown 2x12 when he plays with The Who. The Epifanis are supposed to sound pretty good, with a clean smooth tone, although it's hard to tell in this format as he's mixed to the back.

Good luck! Mike

I have a 310 and 115 and I'm very happy with them. Also Nick Epifani is very helpful when you call him.

Danno; are your cabs the NYCs or Ultralights?

They are the line before they denoted NYC. Ultralights were not available at the time. Tohight I'm using the 310 with an SWR 18 for a warm up run for a webcast with the F1X-SF2-PLX 1602 head and "Kay".

Pino Palladino does use 2 2x10 straight cabs with The Who. His Ashdown PM-1000 amps were clearly in place on March 29th; you could see the VU meter glow from the back of the RAH!. His main cabinets are 2 8x10 Ashdown cabinets with BlueLine speakers. Seems strange to me having Epis with 10"s and then 16 Ashdown 10" speakers. I'd have something down the low end as well if it was me.
