Hello Alembic World, My 1985 Distillate Pickup Selector Switch selects the pickups when asked for. (Neck,Both,Bridge and Standby) The question I have is the standby an off (Fully Mute) or an Xdb down switch. In other words on standby I still hear it but much lower. I'm hoping this isn't a general bleed through on any selection. Pete |

My 1984 Distillate is dead quite when in the 'off' position. No bleed through. |

That’s what I thought. Hmmmm, with my limited knowledge on this kind of setup makes it tough for me to determine if I should be concerned. The individual pickups sound fine, each one giving their distinctive timbre for their location. The selector switch is working. Even unplugged each individual pickup to verify. Again it’s the Standby and its potential bleed through that may make this Beautiful instrument not shine as she should.? Dave, arrived safe and secure. She’s so different from my Persuader. Been running around a lot to touch base. Thanks for your input. Peace Pete |

It's probably the ground wire going up to the pickup selector switch. Look for a loose wire in there from position 1 on the switch. There's a couple of mixing resistors on the switch, and if the ground isn't connected, the sound can surely bleed through them. |

Thanks Mica, I haven’t had a chance to delve fully into it yet. Family in town.(Run Run Run) However a loose wire makes sense, there is much less low end as well compared to my Persuader. Single ended sounding with low gain. Not the full ranging versatility I would expect from a Distillate. Thank You for your help. I’ll keep in touch. Peace Pete |
