Hello all,

After years of dreaming of being unemployed, it has finally happened! I can now focus on important things like playing bass! If any of you Alembic lovers would like to hear what an Essence sounds like in a rock/jazz/blues/jam band, just check out www.otbmusic.com The recordings are live so they wont capture the full magic that is Alembic but I would love to hear your guy's and gal's input. Thanks!

Can I have you're work than??? Have you ever tried "no work" for 5 years? My family is falling to pieces and apart from my basses and rig I don't own anything anymore and even THOSE I had to put in co-ownership.
***sigh*** I know exactly what you mean and I KNOW that there was no meaning to hurt and only joking ...but ...well ...it "itched" and I had to clear my mind.

Great tunes! The chord progressions are really nice! The bass is a little lost in the mix, but as you said, it's a live recording. From what I can hear of the bass (I'm sure my computer speakers don't help) it sounds like you are supporting the guitar player's rhythmic patterns nicely. On the second tune, the nice tone you are getting on the Essence is a little more evident.

Paul, I'm very sorry to hear that things aren't going very well, and (reading your message) I guess that's an understatement. Being a frequent user of the same myself, I can appreciate the sarcasm and/or black humor in Maxime's statement. It's one way of dealing with bad things in your life. I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. I wish you (both) well...

Hey Dave, thanks for the input. We will be going into a studio by the end of the year and putting the songs down on 2 inch. I will post them on the website when that happens. I would also like to apologize to palembic. I had no mal intent in my message. That sucks that you are having a hard time. Do you live near a Dow Chemical company? All you need is a High School diploma and they pay very well and have excellent benefits. I was working at the plant in RI but it shut down. I did see this coming based on the last two years, and pretty much sold everything I owned, put it all in savings and saved every last cent from my paycheck so I have a nice cushion to sit on for a while. Instead of being upset about loosing my job, I decided to change my career and go to school for music. That is all I meant. I hope everything works out for you.
