Hello, all. I'm the longtime owner of a 34" Standard Point Series I, with the original case... which means I have an Alembic Bass and a small apartment to carry it around in. I'm specifically concerned about the point, and to complicate things further, I'm a lefty. Has anyone ever acquired a new case for their instrument? Something more slim-lined or modular? I've got no interest in the soft shell stuff, btw. I emailed Alembic a couple of weeks ago, but no reply yet. Thanks! (Message edited by strangeboy on June 11, 2012) |

Hi I've got a longscale series one point and agree about the standard case. I've found that the Harvest leather bass bag just fits. Its almost solid and is no lightweight but it certainly isn't a floppy gig bag. Check out the website, these things aren't cheap and I understand from some other players in Holland that the owner of harvest leather owns some Alembucs,,,could explain the reason that the SI fits! |

I have just been in contact this week with Harvest in Germany as I'm looking for a decent leather bag to hold two alembics. He did send me a picture of one of their leather cases with an Alembic Europa and a Fodera bass in. They also do a short scale bass case for the small bodied SC basses which I'm also considering. Then will more than likely be offloading some of my original Alembic cases as I have flight cases now. Strangeboy, In my experience with alembic, it's less stressful if you are able to just pick up the phone and give them a call. I hope you find a suitable case. jazzyvee |

I have a Body Glove gig bag (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/body-glove-hybrid-bass-guitar-bag) that fit my 34" Standard Point SI that has sat empty since I sold the bass. It's not a floppy gig bag and has good structure to it. I still wouldn't throw it in a trailer and stack gear on it, but for around town, it worked out fine. If you are interested, get in touch off board. It was the only gig bag I found that fit a Series point bass. |
