Hi, Here's an old one that came to my mind. Sorry if you already know it: A traveller is exploring dark Africa. For one trip to a supposed village deep in the jungle where few men have been before he seeks a guide and carriers. He spends a few hours asking around in bars etc., but nobody wants to join him. Too dangerous. Finally, although it costs him a lot of money, he finds a couple of locals willing to join him. A few hours after they set off the ominous sound of drums fills the air. Our hero sees the panic in the eyes of his crew when they say to him: “Mista, we’d better go back now. When drums stop, very bad, very bad!” “Oh, come on”, he says. “It can’t be that bad”. Reluctantly the crew pick up their stuff and continue their trip. Only 10 minutes later, again the same drumming sound can be heard, but much louder now. Oongah-boongah Oongah-boongah… There’s total panic all over the place. “Mista, you betta run, when drums stop, very bad, very bad”. The traveler immediately runs back, but only to catch up with the rest to offer the double the money he’d already paid them as to come back and continue. This goes well for about another 10 minutes, but now the drumming sound is overwhelming. BONKA-BONKA-BONKA-BONK. “Mista, you run, you hide, when drums stop very bad, very bad” “Oh, for crying out loud man, tell me what happens when the drums stop” “Bass-solo”

Good one, Cor - I think that is also found on Gov't Mule's THE DEEPEST END set, two CDs plus DVD. I think someone mentions it on the DVD as they are setting up. EffClef |

It is a good one !! Mark King also tells this joke or a close variation of it on an old Level 42 video I have somewhere. |

Very funny! Thanks for starting my day off with a laugh. I'll be telling it at my next rehearsal. Bill, the guitar one |

Brother Nick, it is the "Fait Accompli" video about the Level 42 introduction in the US music scene. Video's were shot in the New Orleans area. I think they even shot in Brother Michaels garden in between some alligators and snakes! Paul the bad one

It certainly is Paul. I think Mark tells it very well too!It appears that he, not unlike yourself, is something of a natural comedian... |
