Are the instructions for the Q switch installation somewhere on this site? My switch arrived today but did not have instructions.

Sorry about that - here's a PDF of what you should have received:

application/pdf025-001
025-001.pdf (497.2 k)

These instructions predate the prewired kit you received, so you'll be doing steps 1 and 4 and 5 only.

Hi Mica,

It was sure nice talking with you and your Mom this afternoon. I think these instructions will work for the three way switch as well, yes?

Thanks,

Hollis

Hello Mica,

I was looking at the switch and on the diagram it has a lock washer. The actual switch does not have a typical lock washer from what I have used in the past. Instead there is a smooth black "washer" that is fixed to the threaded part right at the base. Is this the lock washer?

Hello Mica,

Max here again, I decided to install the switch without the lock washer. My worst nightmare came true when as I was drilling, the top of my bass got chipped. After freaking out a little I put the dress washer on and this covered up the chip. Whewwww!!! After installing it, the switch seemed secure so I don't think I will need the lock washwer. But when I plugged it in, and turned the switch on, paddle to the floor, the switch was actualy off. When I positioned the paddle away from the floor it was on. I rechecked my wiring and that is when I noticed that the switch is wired differently that it shows on the diagram. Lets call the insulated wire on terminal one. On the diagram, the capacitor leg is on terminal two, but on my switch it is on terminal three. Is this OK? If the only difference is that my on/off will be reversed I don't care but if it could ruin the electronics I will want to change it. What do you think?

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

You might want to tack down the chipped finish area with a spot of superglue.

It actually doesn't matter which terminal the cap is on, so don't sweat it. The on/off direction has only to with the orientation when you mount it. You're fine just the way you are :-)

Thanks!

The sound of my bass with the Q off is exactly the sound I was looking for. I have a Hartke 2.5xl and no matter how I adjusted the EQ, it was too "glassy". The Q switch on will be for when I do my solo spot. Thanks again.
