I've been toying with the idea of adding a ramp to my Rogue 5. I became intereted in the mod since vewing pics of Gary Willis's signature bass and after doing some research I've found a couple of people who will build a ramp to whatever specs you can provide. I would however would like the Mothership to build one for me and I will send off an e-mail to sister Mica in the event she doesn't see this post to see if this is something that can be done. I would love to hear from someone on the board if they use a ramp also. S.Dave |

I've been using ramps for about eight years, I usually just make them myself out of ebony, or rosewood, I works great to keep your fingers from getting under the strings, Gary Willis first came up with the idea on an early tobias, There were ten pre-gibson tobias made like that, I owned one, It was one of the better basses I've ever played. You want the ramp to be radius to match the fretboard so the height is consistent across all the strings. Good luck, B |

And I thought a ramp was something you placed a car onto so you can work on it!! |

Went the aforementioned website to read up on ramps. Interesting. I especially liked the quote "Many people use ramps to train the plucking fingers and eventually remove them." I hope they are referring to the ramp itself and not one's plucking fingers. If that's the case I'll just use a pick. |

Huh, imagine that! And here I was thinking the purpose was to provide a constant thumb anchor up & down the string. Peter |
