This question is for Val, Susan or Mica. But please, anyone, feel free to help if you can. Most of the specs for my next guitar have been finalized, though I have begun to waffle about the pickups. I was wondering what the tonal differences are - in layman's terms - between the HG and the HG4. I have tried to find out for myself by playing my Orion and then quickly plugging in the Little Bear. Unfortunately, because of the marked differences in their controls, I'm finding it difficult to do a direct one-to-one comparison. It seems I can shape the tone of the Skylark electronics in many more ways than the Orion. Yet, sometimes. I feel as though I get a slightly heavier tone from the latter, with far fewer "knob turns.". Is this just my imagination? If this next guitar is to be used primarily through a distorted/overdriven amp and I want a heavy, classic rock tone, which p'up would you recommend - the HG or the HG4? I feel as though I should be able to answer this myself...I just can't seem to.

Regards,

Jonathan

Time for a factory road trip! Go play them for yourself! There were at least four or five Skylarks in the showroom when I was last there.

Good Question, Jonathan. Would you care to share your specs? I'm looking to get an order for my custom guitar before the price increase but I haven't got a clue as to what the hell I want. Sounds like you're looking for the same thing I am and you have more guitars/gear than I do already. Since we have similar tastes, you may just be able to do the trick for me.

Cheers,

Kevin
