So, my music store owner calls me up this morning and tells me that the store just got an Alembic in. Told him to hold it. And I bought it...sorry...couldn't help it. This thing is amazing...oh wait...it's an Alembic. |

I always get a chuckle when I read about Epics as "low end" or "entry level" Alembics. I was just reminded last Saturday at a jam, how awesome my Epic is. Your's looks pretty sweet, enjoy. Also one of my favorite body styles. |

I've noticed a pattern of extra pretty top laminates on Epic basses. Isn't that the kind of guitar stand that harms the finish? I've heard/read some horror stories about that orange/yellow rubber. |

I am learning that every day. I was one of those that leaned toward the "snobby" side of the fence. Every Alembic is a voice, and, unfortunately for everyone else, their entry level stuff is already better at least than everything out there. These two "set neck" models are seriously bad motor scooters. The Orion is a band eater. I expect nothing less from the Epic. Articulation and power, baby!!! I have never had a problem with the stands, though this is not what I usually use for anything, especially an Alembic. My 60's Yamaha beach guitar sits in that one. That "orange-yellow rubber" can do nasty things, over time, to light colored bodies. Be careful! |

Oh yeah. Well aware of the rubber gremlins. Thanks for the lookouts, though. Need to work on a better pic. The Zebra top (what we were told by the previous owner) is really beautiful. I am loving it more and more. Just an amazing instrument. |
