I think this warrants further discussion. While we did have another thread about the colors, we haven't really talked about the pickups "covers" at all.

This is important because most of our pickups do not have covers. The coil is cast into a silicone mold that forms the decorative surface of the pickup, the protection for the coil, and the mounting for the pickup.

On the 4-string SC-1, AXY and MXY pickups, we've had injection molded plastic shells made. These are the ones with the "Alembic" name stamped in gold and look like covers. We cast the pickups the same way in these, and the shell isn't removable.

Please let me know if you have any more questions about the pickups.
