I just picked up one of these on Ebay. Nice guitar, a bit fuller neck than the other normal scale Alembic I had. Not sure what the switching is (3 2-way toggles, tone and volume, single hum bucker). Anyway, nice to be back in the fold. Pics:

I do have the original bridge, plus something else (not sure which is which, and not sure if I'll go to the trouble of reinstalling the original)...

Welcome to the board, Robert; nice score! Your controls are volume, low=pass filter frequency, & Q switch (adds a boost at the filter cut-off freq). I would expect the other 2 switches to be 3-way, as they should be bass & treble cut/flat/boost switches. You can read more about them here.

Nope, all 3 switches are two way! Definitely something a little different than the common filter switches...

Bass boost, treble boost, Q switch. (Just my guess)

Awesome guitar! Congrats! I would love something similar with a modular control plate, AND pickup plate to mess w/ different electronics sets

Oooh, is that a possibility (the modular control plate)? That'd be super cool, drop in a bit warmer humbucker and try the more traditional control setup. In fact the Seymour Duncan pickup rings with the coil-tap/parallel/series switches would be super cool with a competent preamp like that. Hmmm, only problem is room for a second battery or a power supply connection on the control plate.

This guitar is the exact shape of my bass, but maybe 25% smaller.

Nice guitar. Welcome to the club.

Well Rob, that's one way to think about it, but I was thinking strictly in terms of Alembic Activator components. A Distillate guitar and Distillate bass w/ top routed control plates and universal pickup routs would be ideal for dealers to showcase different electronic sets for potential owners.

Im curious about the replacement bridge, and what prompted the change. Is the spacing different? Are the original grooves filed too deep?

Welcome to the Club! Nice looking guitar; the case is very cool, too! Is that original?
