Does anyone know anything about the 3/4 size Mark King Bass? Balance, sound, playability, weight, etc. How does it compare to an Essence or Orion? |

Mica and folks at Alembic, Thanks for ignoring my request for help in purchasing a new Alembic bass. |

Gee James, I didn't realize this question was specifically directed at me. In fact, I understood the "anyone" to refer to the Club as a whole. Why don't you share some more information? It's hard to answer questions about balance without at least knowing the number of strings. Is there a specific bass you were considering? The Orion is a set neck model. The Essence and Mark King (full size and 3/4 size) are neck throughs. Orions (and any set neck bass) will have a more sharply defined midrange punch, while all neck throughs (Alembic and others) will have a built-in EQ "smile" (larger lows and highs with suppressed mids). In short, the Essence and Mark King will have more in common than an Orion and Mark King. I'll need the additional information from you to offer any useful advice for your specific situation. |
