A plea for help...

I've been trying for months to track down someone who owns a short or medium scale Alembic bass. I've never played on one, but I'm very interested in purchasing such a bass. I'm in the Austin, TX area, but will be driving up to Dallas on Friday, October 11, to visit Larry Morgan Music (in Garland).

As of today, there's no guarantee I'll come across a short or medium scale bass while I'm at the shop (they don't stock them - and apparently nobody within 1,000 miles of Austin, TX keeps any in stock).

If you have a short or medium scale Alembic bass and live in the Dallas area, I'll gladly buy you lunch or dinner if I can check it out.

Again, I'll be in the area on Friday, Oct.11 and would sure appreciate any help I can get. Who knows, one day before I pass away, I may actually play on one of these basses :-)

Thanks,
Bryan

Have you tried Guitar Resurrection in Austin?
They usually have a pretty good assortment of Alembics in stock.

Hi Steve,

Yes, but Jim says he won't stock short/medium scale Alembics because they're such a specialty item.

I've called Alembic for a list of ALL the dealers within the State of Texas, and I've called every one of those dealers. None of them EVER keeps a short/medium scale Alembic bass in stock. So it appears that my only hope is to find a used one that shows up in a shop, or find someone who owns one.

Bryan
