We've hired a new screen printer for our wearables. Dad and I met with them Monday at their shop, and were both impressed with their operation and care they put in their product. The first run will be ready to ship before Thanksgiving. We're just running black large and extra large this time. You know what, I'd like another one of the Alembic denim shirts but with leather on the back of the shoulders (I think called the Yoke), instead of denim. Reason?.... purely practical as the rubbing action of my dreadlocks has worn it almost thread bare in just about 18 months of minimal use. Leather would be much harder wearing. One of the ladies in my band is a seamstress so may be able to drop some leather over that area for me. Jazzyvee | ||

Lots and lots of packages. I of course was slightly optimistic about how fast we could pack all of these up (big surprise, right?) and we also managed to get 2 shipments out to new dealers (France and Canada, I'm lookin' at you!). If you haven't received your notification yet, you should get it today, because I think the last of the orders are leaving on the truck today. I am planning another order with extended sizes (heck I need a new shirt!) and other colors. I'm going to get the "Sage Green" and probably "Claret Red" in the next installment. I also have new hats and another t-short design I'm cooking up as well. You know I'll keep the Alembic Club posted on progress. | ||

I've had my black Alembic shirt for a few years and it still looks virtually new. Why? Because I treat it the same as my other 200+ black Tee's: Cold water wash while turned inside-out; then air dry exclusively. The design won't easily crack through abrasion in the machine and the black shirt will remain black (instead of fading to dark grey). Even when supposedly pre-shrunk, if the shirt is uncomfortably large you can probably dry the heck out of it the first time you wash it and it will shrink without any other ill effects -- otherwise avoid machine drying like the plague. Especially exquisite shirts like these.... BTW, Mica, I'd pay a premium for a double-sided shirt with say, the current large logo and script on the back and a small, monochromatic logo on the left breast. Just sayin'.... | ||

Mine arrived this AM when it was 12 degrees out...I'm currently letting it sit in its container and slowly become adjusted to the temps and humidity in my house because, from what I've heard, they don't come with the capacity for truss rod adjustments. | ||

Brian, if your "core" is anything like mine, when you put your shirt "laminate" on it is going to show some serious back bow that will only increase over the holidays with the ingestion of treats! I wish there was a truss adjustment for that condition, but unfortunately diet & exercise seems to be the only remedy! | ||
