Does anyone know how many employee instruments (without serial numbers) have been built? I am very curious about these instruments and would appreciate any info available on the subject. I see a few lucky members have aquired some of these rare pieces.

That's an impossible question to answer, sorry. We never kept track.

One equally interesting topic along a similar vein is the quantity of unfinished instruments at the shop. There were a lot of pieces of wood there in the approximate shape of musical instruments when I went on a factory tour. I wonder how many of them are in that condition because the wood didn't cooperate, and how many could still be finished into quality instruments? Some of those looked like they had been there quite a few years and are probably really well seasoned pieces of lumber.
