Hi folks ,

Can anyone tell me the main difference between double " p " pickups and traditional " soapbar " shape ? Does it affect the sound in a specific way ?

Thanks for your comments.

Hi Alain,

"P" refers to Fender's Precision Bass, so it's the split pick-up design. As it's an Alembic product, I would assume that they will still sound far more neutral than any regular P replacement pickups.

But as it is a "double" pickup, and also the physical size of the magnet and the windings is different, to a degree it will sound different from the soapbars. IIRC, it is louder than the J-shaped pickup that they offer.

And also it depends on the positioning of their location neck or bridge ect...
