I have solved many problems due to researching the good members advice on many occasions and this is one of those times. Thank you for putting an Alembic Google search page up for it has saved me a TON of grief. In this instance I've been getting a troublesome break up in my sound output.Loss of signal, pops, distortion ect.No matter how I ran the signal chain it would be fine for a while but the gremlin would pop back up. I could tell when the problem was back from looking at my power amp level indicator and it would be jumping with all volume turned to zero and no bass plugged in. I tried every way I could think of to run the F-1X,SF-2 and the rackmount tuner into the power amp with no success. Eventually I ran the signal chain as follows... the F-1X's full range output into the tuner, the tuner into the SF-2 channel A in and to channel B out to the power amp. Worked for a while but the gremlin came back and it finally dawned on me that the tuner just couldn't handle the signal for some reason. I really have to have silent tuning via the mute switch on the tuner plus I want the mute switch activated for between sets and switching out basses.A Y cord or hooking the tuner up to the low side of the crossover was not a solution for me. And then I searched the Alembic Google search and found the solution from a thread (http://alembic.com/club/messages/449/43701.html?1190307935) from '07 from good member Ajdover (Alan) who hooks his up to the effects loop on the F-1X.My dumbass never thought of doing that. VOILA.It seems to be the answer I've been looking for.I get mute switching and tuner capabilities. So far,so good and all due to the good members hear on this board and the Alembic Google search engine, |
