Could you please help with a build record for a 87F4269 bass? If any mods were made (factory),would they be reflected on it? Also, I recall seeing a post regarding an electronics upgrade. Installing another preamp for the bridge pickup. Is this a very complicated project? If not, what are the costs, and precuations? Finally, an overdue Thank You to all for my exquiste Orion, and for enduring all my nuances. Also, Thanks in advance for your help. The Totally Indebted, Ctjim |

Pulled the file, here's what it reveals: 87F4269, FMB-4 Persuader Vector Medium Scale Bass, 4-string top: Bubinga body: Mahogany neck: Maple fingerboard: Ebony with Pearloid oval inlays peghead veneers: Bubinga pickups: PJZ controls: volume, volume, filter output: mono, face mounted birthday: January 22, 1987 originally made for: Manny's Music one previous registered owner. Right now, the modification is done on two handwired boards, so it's rather expensive. We plan to make a printed circuit board for this mod in the near future. Another option would be to replace the VVF electronics with Signature electronics with or without Q switches. If you get it without Q switches, you only need to drill 1 additional hole. This would probably be the quickest way to get 2 preamps for the bass. When we make the Persuader upgrade kit, it will be announced on the Club. If you email me with "Persuader Upgrade Notice" in the subject line, I can send you an email when it's available. Anyone else that wants this notice is free to email me as well. |

Mica, Thanks for your help also. I just took delivery of my new/older bass last night and WOW!!! It needs some TLC, but it sure fits me well. Like Beaver Felton, I'm stuck in a w/chair at the moment. The smaller body/scale helps more than I would have guessed. Regarding the electronics options, I'll probably hold off till I've upgraded my amp setup, and hopefully had the chance to play a bass w/sig. electronics. Pretty neat having the options. Anyway, thanks again for the info.. Ctjim |
