Dear Forum,
Did Alembic ever make white single coil guitar pickups?
I was looking at a photo of an old parts caster strat taken back in 1981, and it had an Alembic Blaster installed, and it had solid white single coil pickup covers. But I have only seen black Alembic pickups. Do you think they are Alembic, or some other brand like EMG ect..?
Thanks for your help.

These look more cream (see link) than the ones you've pictured.
I've only seen a few non-black single
coil sized activators...that cream set, and the occasional set with 'clown vomit' colors.

Yes, those look very cream. And I would think I would be able to make out the molded in Alembic logo name on my photo if they were Alembics. It is a fuzzy crummy photo though. So it still could be.
Thanks

Yep, Rick Springfield. Trying to figure out what kind of pickups those are. They weren't used to record the song, as that was performed by another guitarist, but I am interested in this guitar, as it was his main axe.

No way of knowing without seeing a logo, or talking to RS or his tech, but lots of 80's Strats wore these:

I'm concerned that pace knew that was Rick Springfield... based on a crotch shot. :-)

Another maker that comes to mind is Evans. I had a set and they were a stark white .

Lol..... I set myself up for that!....

I put together a similar strat 5-6 years ago, and when I saw his behind the music, I was bequizzled as to whether that was a stock model or what.... Never noticed the blaster!...

I'm curious as to when activators were first launched. '80 seems early for a single coil set. I'd also like to know when the first non-series guitar was officially marketed (distillate? Electrum? '79? '80?).....
