Looking for a general ballpark figure for a used Orion 5 string in excellent condition. Anyone care to give their opinion?

There seems to be quite a spread on prices on used Alembics. I have seen Orions on the internet selling for as little as $1100 and as much as $2900. I have also seen Epics selling between $1000 and $2200.

That's quite a spread!

Someone on this forum created a price sheet based on ebay sales over the last few years. I can't seem to find it in the archives. Does anyone have a readilly available link to the thread?

You're right Dan, it is quite a spread. In fact, right now on ebay there is an Epic with a starting bid of $1695 and another starting at $2000. Less than 2 weeks ago I bought one through ebay for $1000. I traded a 2001 Musicman Stingray for the other. I would check some of the other used instrument sites such as Bass Northwest, Instrument Exchange, G Guitars, Ed Ronan, Gruhn Guitars etc. I seem to remember seeing a few Orions on some of those sites. By the way, are you shopping or selling?

Thinking about selling. My poor Orion just isn't seeing the gig-time it used to.

I wish I knew that before I bought my second Epic. Good Luck

I had a look/play of a 4 string orion last weekend they are great basses. The body was smaller than I imagined it to be but still has a fantastic sound.
