Hi Val (or anyone else who can help me out) I am Still waiting to sell my Electric upright so I can afford the Bass that I thought was a 73/74 Series 1 but I found the serial number and it is a 1976 long scale Series 1 76-426 large body with a point.(I like anyone with a point!) Can anyone tell me anything about this? Thanks Phil petfam_51@videotron.ca |

I should be getting the power supply & cable soon The guy who is selling this is on vacation for a couple of weeks so if my EUB is not sold, I'll dip into the line of credit and just buy it! |

Hi Dave I am picking this bass up on Friday. Do you think someone there can look it up before then. I will feel more comfortable spending the money, knowing more about the instrument Thanks Phil |

Thanks!!! The guy who has it is a non player who buys and sells and collects. He seems to deal with a guy in Montreal into Alembics.I just bought a '68 Tele bass from him and he showed me the Series 1. I've got to sell my EUB to afford it but my dreams of being a doubler are unrealistic with job family etc. There are what appear to be dark lines like cracks on the front and back but they appear to be in the finish rather the wood. Kind of like like checking. Is that something you've seen before? Thanks Phil |

It's not uncommon for a 1970's Alembic to have checking in the finish. We changed to the current formula in 1980-1. Post a picture of the bass, I can tell you if the cracks resemble typical checking or look like something more serious. |
