I picked up from Ebay, some time ago, an Alembic bass, serial number 85P3808. From the site, I gather this is a Persuader, built in 1985. What's confusing me is the bass has only one pickup, a "soap bar" style. All pictures I have seen of Persuaders seem to have two pickups. Any comments, anyone? Since getting my Series I I don't use this anymore and am planning on selling it on Ebay. Thanks, Rick |

Sounds like you've properly "decoded" the serial number. Persuaders had either one or two pickups. They were basically Spoilers holding Activator electronics, and you could order any Activator, including single pickup models. When you list it, you should pop over to the For Sale & Trade section and post an announcement. |
