Hi ... I'm the lucky guy who purchased Patrick Moran's Persuader Vector. Great bass! Prior to this bass, I carried my Kubicki and Fender basses in gig bags without problems or much worry. Lack of an offset headstock, relative ease of neck replacement, indeed total replaceability of the basses, all led to less concern. Now that I have this irreplaceable bass with an offset headstock, I'm carrying it in one of those crappy thermoplastic Fender jazz bass cases, but seeking a better option. How good/bad would better Fender Jazz bass cases be? For example, this one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7361358588&fromMakeTrack=true I shudder to think how expensive an Alembic case would be, or even how available given the scarcity of this model. (Yes, I'm careful about my instruments, but "tight" financially.) Any guidance would be greatly appreciated whether via this forum or by direct e-mail to pollicita@comcast.net Rock on! -Jim- |

Jim, welcome to the club. You can check with Alembic about cases. The price list shows HSCs starting at $305. Good luck to you finding a case you like and can buy. Rich |

Hi Jim, you may want to talk to Beaver Felton or Grasshopper over at Bass Central. Very helpful Alembic dealer who will get you a proper case at a discount. Cool bass, welcome aboard. |

If you're looking at alternatives, you might consider Pro-Tec cases. I've had one for over 10 years, and it is quite durable, and protects pretty well. http://www.ptcases.com/items.asp?ProductID=275&InstrumentGroupID=4&CategoryID=2&InstrumentID=5 Brad |
