The reason I ask is it would seem I have just won one on eBay (late night wine may have been involved) - have never even seen one before but it seemed to cheap to be true and was just a few miles away. Really know next to nothing about it, but have an Ashdown 500 ABM EVO II Head thats a bit lonely so going to see how they get on.

I've never used one but I do have Mesa PH212 and 210 cabs and they're earth shaking. I like the look of the 1516 so if you don't like it let me know and I'll pop down from Scotland to take it off your hands :-)

Graeme seriously, thats one heck of a drive, though I realise our American cousins drive further than that to the shop !

From what I head read its quite 'hi-fi' not sure if thats a good thing or not, esp with an Alembic but hoping the hybrid head will dumb it down so to speak. Regards from an sunny south wales :-)

The best thing you could do would be to ditch the ashdown and get a Mesa 400. This would be pretty close to Paul McCartney's old stage set up although he's now using the new Mesa bass strategy heads. Looks like he's using the 1516 in this picture.

Well its only a practice amp so coughing up for a Mesa 400 would be a bit extravagant, but in the unlikely event of winning the lottery this weekend I will keep it in mind !

Hence why it will just be used for fun at home (lucky enough to live in the countryside with next door being half a mile away) - though expect they may still just hear it lol
