i rececently bought a new output jack for my ovation. The old one was crackling and popping whenever the cable moved. the one i bought is a stereo jack with the three prongs sticking out. Also, it is the type that when you insert the cable, a piece of metal bends downward and touches the shaft. i was wondering if anyone had any wiring schematics that would help me out, i just cant get it to work. (The wires coming from the preamp are red, black, and white if that helps.)

Ovations have a special jack that turns on and off the battery whenever you insert a plug.

They sell one here and if this is what the one you removed looked like...you need this one or else your ovation will not work because this plug has a DPDT switch built in. Also...it needs to be wired EXACTLY like the one you removed had been.
