These pups are on eBay and I wonder if they can be hooked into a Series one preamp? They're for a $195 BIN here http://cgi.ebay.com/ALEMBIC-PICKUP-PICKUPS-for-Bass-Guitar-PAIR-Look_W0QQitemZ7367717888QQcategoryZ22670QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Can't tell from that picture; they could be Series pickups, or they could be AXYs. A picture of the back of the pickups MIGHT show what kind they are. Valentino |

You can connect AXY pickups to Series I/II electronics, just turn down the hum balance trimmers. |

Thanks Mica. If they're AXY's, do they match well with the Series I? Or is that one of those "who knows" questions? |

AXYs will function well, but they don't sound like the normal single coil pickup, largely because the AXY has half the magnetic aperture as the SC-1. BTW, we sell cosmetic second pickups at half the retail price, so a pair of "comso" AXYs from us would run $130 at this time. We don't always have them available, but I know there's at least one pair right now. |

Thanks Mica! Thats less than what the eBay seller wants. I think I'll stay with my original pups. |
