We are getting ready to convert the Alembic Club to a new platform. This means that starting tomorrow, April 27 at 2:00 pm Pacific Time, the Alembic Club will become read-only.

We are hoping that the new and improved forum will be available on May 1, but of course if could be slightly before or slightly after that time.

With the new platform, spontaneous users deletions, file locking errors, and picture gremlins should be but a memory and a host of new and exciting forum issues will await us.

Thanks for your patience during this upgrade. It's gonna be worth it.

Bummer! I love this board, just as it is. I think it's charming. Hitting the "post" button is like yanking the arm on a slot machine. You are rewarded for your post with three random error messages, including the double post jackpot!

I am NOT complaining, honest. I adore it. (I think of the pink "contact Mica" screen as her way of saying "hi!"). We have an introduction forum, but we really get to know people through their "sorry for the double post!" posts, and most people only do that once or twice. Some people seem horrified, like they broke the board or something. Others just let it ride. But it doesn't happen much after a certain point because everybody figures it out sooner or later - and holy cow, we're talking about the Alembic family here.

I don't think Alembic was born in a shop, but more likely a huge field covered with thousands of people. A Family. That's us, umpteen years later, staring at screens in our homes around the world.

All families have a lot of quirks and questionable behavior, but if you love 'em, you put up with it. That's how I feel about this board. It was unique. I'm going to miss the cranky old bastard. It was like a crazy relative.

Here. Pull my finger.

Adding Thanks to the Staff and Mods for a cool, and informative place to hang out. I'm passionate about just a few things, and this one is right near the top.

I'm gonna' miss that Profile Gremlin. (not) =)

The current board has more duct tape on it than the stage gear of a blues band that's been on the road thirty years. Mica and Ron have put a lot of work into keeping this thing going.

I feel that Mica & Ron with the extended Alembic folks have created immense value in the lives of all of us here . The Alembic love beams from the logo in infinite ways.

Wolf; that's a nice way to think of the logo. Thanks! It interconnects all of us. You've changed how I'll see the logo when I pick up my bass or see it on another Alembic, or on a new club board.

Well stated, Wolf. That resonated with me. This forum is such an amazing, friendly, cool and articulate corner of the internet. It's really a reflection of the people and products of Alembic.

Thanks Mica and the Moderators for everything Alembic, this Forum and the new rollout conversion.

Looking forward to what awaits our new and improved platform, (again Thanks Mica for your generous hosting and I am sure a lot of work in development).
