Right..I have got myself a lovely little collection of EH pedals over the last couple of months thru Ebay here in the UK. Now I ask you lot out there..does anyone else use them and any good pointers for settings, don't get me wrong I know how to use them but sometimes someone suggests something that you didn't even see! But let me tell you this..they are not the most quietest of units..especially there new Flanger Hoax which has more controls on it than Phil Lesh's Alembicised bass! I have a Mini Q Tron & Bass Balls The Q-Tron is only useful using the LF setting on the switched rotary and it is a very subtle envelope follower producing some great 'Bootsy' sounds. The Balls is much more 'in your face' with it's two envelope filters..you can get a great 'synth wah' sound on it if you play Stevie Wonder's 'I Wish' or 'Boogie On Reggae Woman' So to finalise..is there any of the other EH pedals that may be useful..you see I love the funky looks of them when they are on stage..I mean they catch anyone's eye with all them colours & graphics I await in anticipation |

I had the Q tron but didn't like it as much as the moogerfooger mf-101. The tron was very noisy and had a very limited range on what I could do with the sound shaping. The mf-101 is incredibly versitile, quiet, sound shapping goes from subtle to outrageous. |

I have an original (mid 70s) EH Small Stone phase shifter that still works very well on bass. It's a classic phase shifter, so I only use it on "spacey" mood pieces. Mike |

I have the Qtron Plus (with the effects loop), and have really only found one setting on there that sounds good with my bass (SI)...Not sure what it is right now...I dont even like using it all that much, but I made the mistake of bringing it to practce one night and now everyone insists I bring it all of the time... |

Ever try an Akai Deep Impact? I know it's not EH, but I love mine. |

Interesting question. I have recently been looking to get an 8/12 string bass sound out of my four string. That search has pointed me toward an EH box called the POG (Polyphonic Octave Generator), but I haven't seen or heard one in person. It's one of their higher ticket items, though. You should check out their website for info about all of their gear to see what sounds interesting to you. They're at www.ehx.com. The real question for me is always whether there are any sounds I hear in my head that I can't get out of my bass. |

I have loved EH pedals for a long time. My current favorite is the Bass Microsynth. Endless possibilities! I also like the Bassballs on fretless. Edwin |
