I have a 4-ohm B1 and an 8-ohm B4. The B1 is for bedroom practice and the B4 is for the world. I like 'em both, but I'm a novice here, lacking all experience with alternatives. Andy Lewis is great to deal with, very responsive to email. Mike, if Danno (dannobasso@optonline.net) doesn't see this thread, you might contact him direct. I'm pretty sure he's had experience with Acmes. |

I have a B2. The low end sound is really great for such a small light weight 2x10 cabinet. Lots of folks like the clear "non-colored" sound of these cabinets. Personally, the high frequency sound is a bit lacking for the tone I'm after. I much prefer my Bag End and Eden cabs for high end tone. I found an excellent combination for low volume gigs was running both by Bag End 2x10 and my B2 full range together. This gave a really nice low end and a really nice high end. One other thing, the B2's require a lot of power but don't put out a lot of sound as compared to the Eden XLT. And I agree with George that Andy Lewis is great to deal with! |

I had a Low B2. It sounded clear and clean with a great bottom end, but my 300 Watt head couldn't make it loud. I was much happier with the Eden D210XLT I got to replace it. The B2 requires 500 Watts min and easily could use a 1000 Watt amp.

Well I guess that settles that. I've been using a Trace Elliot AH350SM head for the past 10 years and I can't bear to replace it, so I guess the Acmes would need alot more power than what I have. It looks like Eden seems to be the cabinet of choice, so I guess I'll check into them. I'm off to the "What amps do you find go well with your Alembic" thread. Thanks. Mike |

Paul; I'm using a 2402, which, at 700 watts per channel, I think is ideal for a 4 ohm B2. |
