I just won an ebay auction for an Alembic Epic serial number 98W11850. The anticipation of it's arrival is already killing me and it's only been 40 minutes. I don't know if I can stay sane during the next week. Oh wait, I have to go see my accountant to see how much I owe the IRS. I guess that'll bring me back to earth for a while....

Congratulations! Somtimes the anticipation is as good as holding it, playing it for the first time. Enjoy and don't let the man bring you down.

Bill, I don't know what seperates this Epic from any other. The funny part is that I bought my Excel on ebay years ago, also for $900. I guess it was meant to be :-)

Dave, the man is going to certainly bring me down. I'd just be happy if he doesn't kick me while I'm there!

Congrats Paul!!

Bill; according to a previous post by Mica, there were two runs of special edition Epics for Guitar Center. They differ from stock Epics in that the truss rod cover and backplate are brass, oval inlays have been added, and there is a double pinstripe under the top.

It is finally here!!!!

It was a mess when it showed up and was in need of an extreme cleaning. I took everything apart. Every last piece except the electronics. Cleaned, polished and reassembled - it took two days. There was something sticky on the finish and in the pickup cavities too. Eeek!

Anyway, I just got done playing it for the first time and I love it. I played it for hours! I will post pics this weekend in the Showcase section. Now let's see how the rest of the band reacts to my new baby.......

The addiction never left me ;)

Brother Paul, how the heck are you??? I sent you a reply to your mail, I hope you got it! And yes, I just got done playing it for hours again. Tomorrow the Excel gets a cleaning and new strings. It's a party all around!
