I agree a great looking guitar. One minor question though? Are the strings red or is it just a trick of the light? Jazzyvee? |

I think they are really red, Jazzyvee. That 'heaping scoop o' mojo' is a priceless option! |

Tom: Cool! And well deserved! Once again, I LOVE this wood. One question: did you pay full price for the "heaping scoop o' mojo" or was it part of a monthly special? LOL Bill, tgo |

Thanks everyone! I'm overjoyed with both the guitar and selection for this month's custom. Jazzy, the strings are DR Extra Life Coated. They come in black, blue and red. I just used them for the photo ops at Alembic, but now that I've played them I do like them. I usually play D'Addario XL's, but these seem to keep their tone longer. I'm going to restring with the XL's in a day or two and see what it sounds like. The mojo was a surprise option. Bill, were you there when the mojo was installed? Or is it some long lost elven ritual performed under the full moon? We'll have to see if the option makes its way to the quote generator. Charles, the new bass is done (that was FAST) and Mary said she'll be getting it out very soon. Of course, pics to follow in the showcase. If the fine people at Alembic didn't make it so much fun, I could probably restrain myself. But then they go and say things like "snakewood fingerboard" in a recent monthly special, and my mind starts to wander... ;) Thanks again, Tom |

the burl on that piece of wood is RIDICULOUS. mother nature at her finest. i wonder how a series II bass would look like with that kind of wood! |

Thanks Dave, Jonathan, and Jimmy! Yeah, the wood is just crazy. I struggled with that, forego the guitar and get the maxed out bass, but I wanted to experience a custom Alembic guitar, so I had to do it. Here's what we started with: Guitar Bass

Gorgeous guitar. The wood looks awesome and the control knobs are a wonderful touch. Congrats on the COTM as well as owning that instrument! |
