A few years back I bought a set of used Alembic Jazz replacement pickups off the dreaded Ebay to go into my Fretless Fender Jazz. I love the P/AE1 in my old Yamaha P style bass. I never used them. I pulled them out recently and am fairly sure I'm missing something. I have two J pickups and a chain of boards/pots. I've got the jack, which is connected by wires to a board with a pot, which is connected to another board with a pot in turn. So, what I have is either short a board/pot, or Alembic sold them as a two pot set. I suspect the former. Is it possible to get the missing pot? |

Chris, Here is a link to a picture of the JB Activators. It might show you what you need to know. Keith |

Hi Chris, I can't help you with your question, but I wanted to welcome you to the Club. To be honest I expected your nickname to stand for Carl Thompson (not the man himself, but owner of...) but you're excused... ;-) Wilfred |

It's probably supposed to be Volume, Pan, Filter. And I'm guessing you could order the missing part, if you can determine which part is missing. I would imagine that if you contact Alembic and tell them what you have, they can tell what you're missing and send it to you. It might also be helpful to take some good closeup pics and post them here. |

I don't suppose that schematics for the parts are available? I don't mean to try to take business away from Alembic on their own site, but I'm insanely poor right now, and my experience with buying replacement parts from alembic haven't been cheap. I seem to remember a $45 volume pot I bought from them for my 83 spoiler. In better financial times I wouldn't even blink |

Take pix of the stuff you got and send them to Alembic. That way, they might be able to figure out what configuration you have, and determine what's missing. As with everything else Alembic, there are more than one configuration available. Once they figure it out, they should be able to guide you in the right direction and/or provide the relevant schematics. |

Wilfred, I am curious,,, actually I'm Paul, but your tag "the mule" is that from the Foundation series or is it related to Gov't Mule or something completely different? |
