Mica, Ron, Susan, Michael, Mark, et al - as stated in the thread header, I have recently reacquired 76AC070 for the fifth and FINAL time.

The previous owner was kind enough to sell her back to me when he found no time to play. His loss - my gain, but I certainly do appreciate his honoring my caveat at the time of the original sale that I be given ROFR if it ever came time to sell.

FYI - I've solved the back pain issue by purchasing a high quality gig bag and ditching the old 35 pound anvil case.

I have also decided that the bass - however stunning to look at and however collectible it may be - was made to be PLAYED. That is exactly what I am doing and loving every reunited second of it!

I thought that all of my Alembic brothers and sisters might like to know about this.

Comments are welcome (even if they are to tell me that I am patently daffy, as Rosie - my wife - considers me to be).

Chris, that is awesome! I hope that this will be the final time. You are supposed to have this bass. I have also learned my lesson and will never part with another instrument. I always regret it. I am still kicking myself for parting with the Anniversary Model bass I had. It was special to me.

Daffy, nah! You just have the same disease I do.
Congrats!

well even though you can make the argument that an alembic is a museum piece, all of mine see stage time (even the spyder. actually, the other ones have taken back seat to the spyder!). they're meant to be played, dammit!

i've solved my back pain issue by wearing a back brace under my shirt on stage. nobody's the wiser and i can keep a series II strapped on all night long. it does kinda crimp my beer drinking though :-(

congrats on getting your bass back. i think i might have bid on that at one time. i know what it's like to lose a keeper.

What's the old saying..."if you love an Alembic, set it free. If it comes back to you, it is yours...if it does not, then it was never meant to be."
Congrats, Chris. May you two live happily ever after...

Chris #1,
Daffy? Maybe a bit, but hey, that's what makes life fun! Congratulations sounds like a match made in Santa Rosa.

Chris #2,
I don't think I've heard that particular old saying. It does seem to fit the situation though. And that's an old saying's job.

Careful Keavin, you may choose to "leave her ass", but her ass will never leave your wallet. I love my Alembics also, but ex-wives and hateful wives can make life extremely dangerous!
