I have a loose Gotoh tuner. I've tightened the nut around the post and I've tightened the little screw at the end of the peg; but it won't tune smoothly like the others. When I first turn the peg the post doesn't immediately move; there is a bit of a delay before the post starts turning. Is there anything that I can do if I remove the tuner from the peghead; or will I just have to replace it?

Thanks,

Dave

It doesn't sound like something the nut or screw will help. If the machine itself has failed, it's probably best to replace the whole thing. You can call us to order the part if you have trouble finding it locally. They aren't expensive.

Thanks Mica; this is on the same bass that we previously discussed the possibility of sending to you for some work. So if I do, maybe we can replace it then.

Thanks,

Dave
