i strung up my new short scale excel with fender 40-60-80-100 superbass strings and i love the sound! is this going to be ok for the neck? i have heard about necks getting weird from light strings -although they have been SUPER light strings....

Christian..you should be ok with them.
I had to make some adjustments to my 32" Excel when I got it..I live in northern Illinois..and it was the wet season when it arrived..I'm using 100-80-65-45 on mine. You may have to make adjustments for the different tension from one mfgr to another.
