That's just you, how you want to make it look and sound, thanks for showing your real "style"...
But you are not me, so you can't speak for me unfortunately, these words are yours not mine!

Do you know why I don't have many friends? Because I am not an hypocrite and no-one like it.

You know I feel good about myself an anything I said, that's is what count my friend - to be true to yourself, and standup for what you know is right. And don't let anyone make you believe that sausages grow on trees. I don't care the "crowd", the people that just chimes in for griefs, envy, jealousy, ignorance, insecurity and so on... they are everywhere. Yet, I still learn nothing from them. They hate me, they invite themselves and feel guilty by the same token, otherwise they wouldn't bother to argue with me, or have opinions about me or what I said.

I am little sad that you are an other one who don't understand me or what I said, and you are following everyone by the same token... Did you really read the whole thing? Do you that I'd get a little annoyed if it didn't deserve it?

Although I haven't mentioned it yet, it's normal to be bit offended when someone is supposed to get back to you, written black on white, yet, you keep waiting... that's because I am not important. But if Stanley goes on tour to Italy and forget his PSU, then, it's another story, do you know why?

You know what, I don't have a problem with that, but I know it, I shall not forget...

I like you all ignorant children, the good the bad the ugly, the slim the fat, the rude, the smart, we need everyone to make the world go around... But you won't change me. So if you don't like me, just ignore me, it's simple. But if you understand me, then we will be good friends, that's all I can say. I choose who I want to speak to, no everyone like Funky Disco and Motwon, not everyone don't watch the news, I don't for instance...

But one thing for sure, LG as one word, if he says he call you tomorrow at 5, it will call you, if he says he will email you next week, he will do it. That's LG, and LG doesn't like people who cannot keep up with promises. On the other hand, I don't mind people being what other call "rude", because LG knows that you can be rude by saying little, or doing little for instance. You can smile to someone, yet, it could be a bitter smile...

Never judge a book by it's cover.

Looks like you missed my smiley LG.
However, it's my perception (and possibly that of others on this forum) that you become very antagonistic when people either disagree with you (as per your mid control thread) or don't show any interest in your ideas (as per your media player thread). I'm not trying to offend you in any way, I just think you should be less antagonistic towards your detractors. As you say yourself (above), not everyone likes disco and motown. We're a very diverse group of players, all here because we love our instruments and have alot of respect for the company that builds them.

Graeme,
What I am getting at is, the people who said things about me on the other thread, they believe themselves, and they are speaking on my behalf and they have strong opinion about who I am. They cannot do that, and the only participation they offered was grief, nothing else. You cannot change me, I cannot stand people like that participating in my topic, because all they can do is stab me, after the valuable info I give them, they stay behind their screen quiet, suck in informations for free, I when I get annoyed at someone they just jump in, like they have been waiting for it. Like the well know fact, the humans are destroying this planet. Sounds crude? well I can put a smiley if they want, look: ;)

Let's say you invite me to eat and you cook something that I don't like, but I know that you spent a lot of time on it, you put your heart, you want to make sure I am going to enjoy it... Let's say I "hate" the dish, I could say to you two things:
1) Graeme, I am so sorry man, I am allergic to this, I can't really it much, but to honor you I will try some of it, no problem... or something nice to show that I appreciate.
2) Someone terrible would say to you: "Oh Graeme, why did you cook this "s***" no-one like that man, it's horrible, you wasted your time...

I am 1) NOT 2), and when the "2)" "type"gets in the way, it's no good for anyone, it's 2) that create the tension and messes all up. Problem with me, I see them coming
miles away those number "2)". OK, every once in a while, everyone have/had a bit of number "2)" in themselves, but 24/7 is out of order, don't you think?

Now let' say, I like Barry White, and you don't, you could say, oh, I am not really into BW, not my cup of tea... Fine, I am happy with that, I respect that. But you could say BW Suck! he is useless... That wouldn't be nice to say right? That's what I meant all the way. That's when I start to tell people get lost and give me a break for example.

The way people participate and what they say. Then to get the Mater worse, I start to read "I agree with Mica" three 3 x times...
Now that something that got me really annoyed, the fact it's a "deja vu" cliche, meaning Mica is the Boss and everyone agree with her, I am not jealous of Mica, I like her very much, even if I am annoyed about something (yes Mica you know what), it doesn't matter, I still like her. But I want people to have their own mind, and to take this further, if they don't know, they should ASK, not assume or make comment which are inappropriate. I like jokes, when they are real jokes, when everyone can tell that is was intended to be a joke.

We email each other with Olie and I explain to him that I didn't mean bad at all, but if I teach something, and the student start to argue and he/she is off the track, I would say "out, take the door... come back when you are ready to listen and learn" That's my style, because I feel like talking like this, because I feel that I can afford to, because my intentions are good, and I do not tease anyone, people benefit from what I have to say. I wouldn't mind some in return of course, but I am not expecting or waiting for anything. It's in my nature to enjoy teaching thing that I am comfortable with, and all I ask in return, it's to not be disturb with negative non-sense, if you don't know, ask, you think that you know better, try to demonstrate in a positive and constructive way. As far we are concerned right, I have demonstrated that there are low-mid/mid control with all Alembic Harnesses, although limited, but it is there, and it's been difficult for me to offer a "lecture" because of the distraction.

Then Dave start to reply and for bring a huge text to tell me two things;
1) they are busy
2) I shouldn't compete with Ron

Well, 1) and 2) is WRONG DAVE! really I mean it -LG speaking here.
The thread wasn't Alembic being busy or not, and why he made it sound like this, God knows, I was gutted when read this.
When I started to go on with my explanations, I was to try to convince the people who were reading the my plan was a good one
and it made much sense. Until you decided, to make the comments like you did. Again, it's wrong, I don't know why you said that, it's
incorrect. I was enjoying explaining what I was explaining or demonstrating, and basically, you spoiled it, not on your own maybe, but that's
how thing start, everyone bring a little bit, and it goes off topic real quick.

So you don't have to be a hypocrite in order for people not to like you. So what.

But you probably don't get the intended humour in that comment either, I guess.

You spell "an hypocrite" - I didn't have you down as a Max Beerbohm enthousiast.

Troll? You don't even seem to try fitting in with the good-natured spirit that prevails on this forum. Yes, we poke fun now and then. But we tend not to use insults.

Take some deep breaths. Nobody here is trying to prove you wrong in any way. We might disagree every now and then, but we would certainly disagree less often if your tone came down a notch or two. As an expert on filters, you do understand notches, I hope?

LG..people do get the message for the most part.
There are a few people that would love a job at Alembic in some capacity. You have a genuine interest in this and that's good.
As far as teaching not all can understand what's involved and learn at different rates of speed.
What you had told me about A/D recording I had known before. What I needed was a link. That turned out to be the M-audio product which is on the way. With that I say thank you for your help.
Good luck

Do you think I am joking?

Mica, if you are reading out-here, don't listen to anyone, I want to live in Santa Rosa too, it sounds cool! I am tired of old London, I want to meet your dad and watch the sky with him.
You know I make real Sicilian Pizzas too...

BTW: could you please look into my requests, you said last week, I am still waiting...?

NLP, there is nothing to be embarrassed about even if you didn't know anything, AD/DA is a different subject, what's most important is the USB1/2 Firewire PCI Malarkey and so on... You can be proud when you are under my guidance, rest assured that even someone like the Great Elvis Presley would have asked me advice if he was still around (I mean visible on earth, I know he is still around, I spoke to him...).

Don't worry man, it's all under control when LG is around. I don't feel too big for my boots, no, of course not, I was born gifted, at age of four I was already starting walking fast... on one leg, the midle one - you know I am saying, Mid-control ;)

LG;

I have responded to your post about receiving offensive email here. It is my sincere hope that no one in our group would be sending you offensive email; it is simply not acceptable within the context of our group.

That said, your behaviour here also appears to be straining the bounds of acceptability. For instance, I would appreciate it if you would edit your profile. As mentioned in my post cited above, anything posted here should be considered to be in the context of the Wickersham household and the household of every member here. It is indeed the case that some members like to sit in front of their computers with family members, including children, and show them the pictures of the beautiful basses and guitars, and share with them some of the stories that we tell each other. This is a family forum. Some members here are school age, teenagers learning to play music. Some are women. Some are mothers. Some are grandparents.

Members of this forum occasionally go over the line of what I think of as acceptable for our group. And from time to time I try to gently let them know when I think so. I am not the morals police. But I am the moderator of the Alembic group; and in that position I have a responsibility to the Wickershams, the employees of Alembic, the members of this forum, and any one else who happens to stumble across the website and read what's written here.

As mentioned in my post about the offensive email, if you haven't read the posting guidelines, please do. I think they reasonably attempt to outline an atmosphere amenable to all and conducive to the exchange of ideas among people from all over the world.

I hope you do not find my attempts to ameliorate the tenor of discussion here overly constraining. If you do take exception, please do so by email. My goal here is to be helpful to everyone and certainly not to cause anyone discomfort or harm. As moderator I am trying to act in the best interest of the group.

Now my dinner has probably burned. I'm off to the kitchen to see what can be salvaged.

Dave, I hope you enjoyed your dinner. I just want to make sure you realize how appreciated you are around here. You consistently bring the wisdom of Solomon, the patience of Job, and the spirit of Jerry to these pages. And all as a labor of love (the amount of which increases by 10% January 1st)!
Sometime in the future the family will likely visit my brother in Hickory. I hope at that time we can get together.

Thanks,

Bill, tgo

I speak from personal experience, so take it for what its worth. People who speak up in a confident way are always looked down upon. A good way to prove this is to join a Ferrari club and post about putting a Testarossa engine into a Camaro, and do it in a way that leads them to believe that you'll be happy with it.. You should get quite a few detractors. Don't let the get you down. I have reacted myself. I have named my Epic "Lowly" .... :-)

Thanks Bill!

Wade; I'm not sure I follow you. For instance, most people who are elected to public office are people who "speak up in a confident way". In fact I would go further and suggest that most charasmatic people, be they actors, politicians, sports stars, pop stars, religious leaders, etc., "speak up in a confident way". So to say that they are "always" looked down upon doesn't seem to follow. But maybe I'm missing your point. And now that I think further about it, I'm not sure what "speak up in a confident way" means. For instance a college professor may speak to his class confidently because he knows what he's talking about; but a politician may speak confidently despite not knowing what he's talking about, perhaps because he's arrogant. I guess communication is a complex phenomena.

A classic example of my theory is Jesus Christ.. He had his fans, and he had his enemies. He spoke confidently in his beliefs. It was the act of his speaking that got it going. That may be an extreme example, but a great example. There even people who think Fender make the best basses. I disagree.

Thats just that one guitar. One does not = all. I love my thunderbird, but does that mean I like all Gibson basses? No. Infact, I hate the way the LP Doublecut bass(now called "Money") looks and I really don't like the BFG and digital LP's
