This will sound stupid...I have a few questions...

I have an Epic 4 and an Epic 6.

The Epic 4's serial number is 94W8545. I don't have the 6 with me, so I can't tell you the serial number right offhand. Just a minute - let me look and see if I can find the receipt, maybe it has the s/n...gahh...I can find the receipt, but they didn't put the s/n on it. Truly bad business practice. I bought it used from Worldwide Music in Raytown, MO (now defunct) on 7/15/95. IIRC, the bass came from down around Springfield, MO.

Ahh, finally! Got my drummer to look it up for me. The Epic 6-string is s/n 94W8559. Wow, that's weird. Only 14 units apart, and I bought them almost a year apart, coming from different sources. Or at least, that's what I thought!
-edit-

Here's the questions...some stupid, some not.

Have I registered my 4-string? I think I must have, since I've bought some replacement screws and brass inserts for the battery cover.

Can I get a build record for the 4-string?

Are you able to cross-reference registrations by owner name and tell me if I've registered my 6-string, and if so, what is the darn thing's serial number and build record so I can record it while I'm thinking about it.

I had left a voice mail yesterday about getting some tools for my basses, so if I get a return call maybe I can get this cleared up then.

Sorry to ramble so much...any information will be appreciated.

Regards,

Scott Stillwell

SS:

On your Epic 6, the serial number is stamped on the back of the peghead, and repeated in the rim of the electronics cavity. Take the cover off the back of your bass, and it's stamped in the wood. Very early production Epics ONLY have it stamped here.

Thanks, Joey.

That's not the problem...I don't have the bass where I can get at it. It's at my drummer's house, and he's got a REALLY nasty case of the flu. I don't want to get anywhere near him for a few days, and he's not going to want to go downstairs and look it up for me...he's not moving far from the facilities, if you catch my drift...

I know where to look for the serial numbers. I just don't want to go there right now ;) If that makes too much work for the folks at Alembic, they can tell me so, and I'll wait and get the number myself. That still doesn't tell me if I've already registered the bass, though.

I'm a scatterbrain. They say memory's the first thing to go...

Thank you for trying to help, though.

I'm still dealing with this darned flu myself, it's a real kicker. Here's the details on the basses:

94W8559
WLB6 Epic 6-string bass
top: Flame Maple
pinstripe: Purpleheart
body: Mahogany
neck: Maple 5-piece set
scale:34"
fingerboard: Ebony no inlays
birthday: September 12, 1994

94W8545
WLB4 Epic 4-string bass
top: Wenge
pinstripe: Maple
body: Mahogany
neck: Maple 3-piece set
scale:34"
fingerboard: Ebony no inlays
birthday: September 2, 1994 (same as my mom's birthday!)

If you haven't already registered your basses please do so and we'll add your owner information to the files. Getting parts doesn't automatically register you. I didn't see details for you in the files (in fact, nobody had registered these basses ever).

These basses were both originally sold to Worldwide Music. They are reunited again in your collection.

Mica,

Thanks for the info, I hope you feel much better soon!

I had already figured that it wouldn't hurt even if you already had the info, so I went ahead and registered via the form on the web site.

Hmmm...I didn't even realize that the pinstripe on the six was Purpleheart. Wow. Shows you how much I'm paying attention.

Thanks again for your efforts. Get well soon!

Scott
